CCAC and UPMC Establish Respiratory Therapy Program Partnership To Help Fill Therapist Shortage

The Community College of Allegheny County's Respiratory Therapy Associate of Science Degree program is teaming up with UPMC in a commitment to bring more skilled respiratory therapists to the region. Participants will have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community while receiving tuition assistance of $6,000, as well as paid work opportunities while completing the program and a guaranteed job at UPMC upon successful completion. UPMC is also currently offering a generous sign-on bonus. Classes begin May 23, and participants can complete their degree in 18 months.

CCAC Radiologic Technologist Students and Graduates Eligible for Sign-On Bonus at AHN

Community College of Allegheny County students and graduates in the Radiologic Technologist program are eligible to receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus when they are hired to fill Radiology Department positions at Allegheny Health Network (AHN). The sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates, and spring 2022 graduates are encouraged to apply.

CCAC Student Wins Prestigious National Court Reporter Foundation Student Intern Scholarship

Community College of Allegheny County student Katie Picciano has been named this year's winner of the National Court Reporter Foundation (NCRF) Student Intern Scholarship. The scholarship is a $1,000 award given annually to a high-achieving court reporting student who has completed the internship portion of their education. The NCRF scholarship program seeks to ensure that rising student court reporters and newly appointed court reporters receive encouragement and incentives to learn and strive for excellence. Recipients are nominated by their schools and must fulfill scholarship requirements.
