Dana Bell is an adjunct reference librarian at CCAC South Campus. She graduated in May of 2023 from PennWest Clarion with a Master of Science in Library Science. In her work as a graduate assistant, Dana assisted with research for the Department of Library and Information Science ALA self-study for accreditation. Before her work in academia, Dana spent years mentoring teens, planning programming, managing events, and engaging with the community as a teen librarian and teaching artist. Dana is part of both the library OER working group and the Outreach working group and is interested in helping to reduce costs for students as well as connecting them with free resources to supplement their education at CCAC.

I've had not one, but many memorable experiences through the library at CCAC South. The highlight of my day is engaging with students and faculty about their current projects and getting to brainstorm and assist with research on so many fascinating subjects.

I love the library and I'm passionate about information literacy and research. I love teaching students how to navigate information and how to find high quality information in the current climate of mis and disinformation.

I have a wide range of interests and enjoy a great number of hobbies. I play the ukulele, knit, hike, paint, volunteer, and, of course, read.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." —Margaret Mead
