• Academics: Find it all at CCAC

    CCAC educates more than 32,000 credit and 28,000 non-credit students annually, but students can expect an average class size of just 19 students. With the extensive network of four campuses and four centers located strategically throughout the region, in addition to a growing array of online courses and programs, CCAC is readily accessible to residents of Allegheny County and beyond.

    The life of a CCAC student includes a full college experience, including classroom and online learning, sports teams and student clubs, as well as academic advising and tutoring services necessary to help students succeed. CCAC job fairs draw hundreds of local employers and the CCAC Honors Program offers opportunities to expand learning.

    CCAC’s affordable programs enable students to save thousands of dollars—up to $45,000 for students who spend their first two years at CCAC before transferring to a bachelor’s program. It’s also ideal for students interested in earning an associate’s degree, certificate or diploma as preparation to enter the workforce.

  • Enrollment Steps and Application

    1. Complete your Admissions Application either online or on paper. 
    2. Apply for financial aid by submitting the FAFSA form, available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
    3. Complete an online or on-campus student orientation. 
    4. Schedule placement tests. Use Appointment Central to schedule an on-site placement test. Photo ID is required.
    5. Meet with an academic advisor to discuss your education plan. 
    6. Register for classes. Photo ID is required.
    7. Pay for classes. Various payment options are available. Pay online in full with Visa, Discover or MasterCard.
    8. Submit your final transcripts including high school/GED and any college transcripts.

  • CCAC Hidden Gems: Acting I

    This course introduces the inexperienced student to acting. Goals are to survey and understand tools (voice, body and mind) an actor must use in a performance. Practice is provided in the technical skills of movement sensory perceptions, motivation, voice and diction. Practical application occurs through presentation of monologues in classroom.
  • SDS 102 - Academic & Personal Development

    Career Planning
    This is a course in the techniques for becoming a successful college student. Coping skills and strategies for transitioning to college are emphasized. The course fosters an awareness of self, the role of self-esteem and confidence in learning, and the importance of self-management skills and tools. Links between student needs and campus resources and processes are explored.
  • MUS 253 - History of Jazz

    This class surveys Jazz from its inception until present day. Topics include composers, performance practice and instrumental technique. Lectures synthesize jazz history with American culture through source study, analytical listening and research.
