Why Bricklayers Apprenticeship?


In the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Apprenticeship and the Tile & Terrazzo Allied Craftworkers Apprenticeship, students receive hands-on occupational training sponsored by the local Joint Apprenticeship Committee. The Bricklayers program spans four years, while the Tile & Terrazzo program is completed in three years. The CCAC component of each program consists of lecture and laboratory coursework, totaling 40 credits for Bricklayers and 30 credits for Tile & Terrazzo. These credits may be applied toward an associate degree in Building Construction Estimating or Building Construction Supervision.

Upon completion of the certificate and required on-the-job training hours, graduates are qualified to work in their respective trades as Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers or Tile & Terrazzo Allied Craftworkers.

 

Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Apprenticeship, Certificate (732)

The Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Certificate Program is a four-year certificate program that provides structured occupational education to qualifying applicants. Qualifying applicants include individuals covered under Third Party Agreements with the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 9. These applicants are registered apprentices progressing toward journey-level status as well as journey-level craftworkers who have completed a BAC apprenticeship program.

Tile & Terrazzo Allied Craftworkers Apprenticeship, Certificate (733)

The Tile and Terrazzo Finisher Certificate Program is a three-year certificate program that provides structured occupational education to qualifying applicants. Qualifying applicants include individuals covered under Third Party Agreements with the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 9. These applicants are registered apprentices progressing toward finisher-level status as well as craftworkers who have completed a BAC apprenticeship program in the respective finishing trade.
