Biography
Charles Morris has 50-year career history in the transportation industry. He has worked as a CDL driver, an independent owner-operator, CDL Instructor, the Dean of Instruction at a proprietary post-secondary career school, motorcoach operator, Safety Director of a regional (W.PA/tri-state area.) motorcoach carrier and luxury transportation provider, and as a member of the CCAC CDL faculty since the inception of the program at the CCAC Boyce Campus.
Charles is a former State CDL examiner. he has also been active in the Teamsters Union, Local #926.
Mr. Morris previously served on the advisory board of the W. PA Ex-offenders Re-entry Coalition and has worked with the Mon-Valley Initiative (MVI) in the past, conducting career education seminars and resume-writing classes.
The Heinz Endowments: Reentry Collaborative: November 5, December 10 and December 11, 2008, (Co-presenter) session B, 10:30 am - 2:30 pm for funders, "felony friendly" employers, employment trainers, judicial and corrections professionals.

MAAD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Volunteer, Conference and work-shop presenter (2002-2014)
Seeing the level of proficiency developed and the successful completion of the CDL Class 'A' training program of the deaf students who have come through the program. A medical wavier was required on their DOT Drivers' Physicals to allow them participate in the program.
For "those who missed the starting, no one told them when to run", getting a CDL is a simple, direct and speedy way to a career which pays family-sustaining wages. With work and motivation, one can become a full partner in the "American Dream".
